Society and genius - most of the time it is a difficult relationship. WA was a genius and a very lucky man. From simple background, one third of his life traveling, with a yearly income of 150.000 USD and a great career from his very youth on. He could be sure of the envy of impoverished common people who had to struggle with an income of often far less than 1000 USD a year.
As an artist and a freemason he also had more inner freedom than most people. So he could furthermore be sure of the bitter envy of the upper echelons of society, who were squeezed in a very strict code of family-honor in their daily lives.
And all of a sudden - in the year 1791 - he died. Because of the feeling of envy in the air rumours never stopped, that he might have been poisoned. In the end, the greatest son of Austria was “dumped” on St. Marx graveyard in a common mass grave without even a simple wooden cross.
More than 60 years after his dead the City of Vienna built a monument for him, which was later on removed from St. Marx to Zentralfriedhof. On the original spot of Mozart’s grave - years later again - St. Marx employee Alexander Kogler built another monument made of parts from abandoned graves. This is the one you can see below.

Es war meine erste Veranstaltung als frischgebackener Obmann des Kulturclubs wieden-art. Die Veranstaltung mit Prof. Johannes Faber vom 11. Dezember war ein besonderes Schmankerl für Kunstinteressierte. Viel Prominenz wie die Malerin Maria Lahr, das Model und It-Girl RenatA PantherA, die stellvertretende Bezirksvorsteherin Barbara Neuroth, die Bezirksrätin Silvia Hofer, der künstlerische Fotograf Erich Lazar, der Hedgefonds-Manager Karl Wanovits, der Art Austria Maler und Kunstfabrik-Gründer Gerhard Leixl und nicht zuletzt die Szene-Legende der 80er, der Mann mit dem vergoldeten Cadillac, Jim Clicks sorgte für eine äußerst anregende und tolle Stimmung.

Vernissage im Russischen Kulturinstitut am 13. März, 18:00 Uhr, Brahmsplatz 8, 1040 Wien
Es ist mir eine besondere Ehre, Sie diesmal in das Russische Kulturinstitut zu meiner nächsten Ausstellung "Fotografische Reflexionen von Heimo Mauser zur Ästhetik von Andrei Tarkovsky" einladen zu dürfen. Andrei Tarkovsky ist der wohl größte russische Filmemacher und wird stilistisch oftmals den Neoveristen zugerechnet. Seine Filme sind poetisch-eigenwillige, ästhetische Meisterwerke voller verschlüsselter Symbolik - und immer auch eine Reise in die Innenwelt.
Parallel zur Ausstellung werden Filme von Andrei Tarkovsky gezeigt werden. Für Speis und Trank ist wie immer bestens gesorgt.

FINE ART FANTASTIC AWARD 2015
The FINE ART FANTASTIC AWARD 2015 has just started on Google Plus. Heimo Mauser and his site FINE ART FANTASTIC PHOTOGRAPHY are the organizers of this worldwide event. The contest lasts till the beginning of May, afterwards a jury of real-world art professionals will pick the ten best pics of the event. The best pic will win a KelbyOne annual membership worth 249 USD of online training courses in photography. Im Rahmen der Veranstaltung "Kunst am Kellerberg" stellen 18 KünstlerInnen aus Schwechat und der Region für einen guten Zweck ihre Werke aus. Schmankerlküche und Weinverkostung, Konzerte ab 18 Uhr.
